This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, process and share your personal data in connection with your business and professional use of  G2’s website (www.g2.com and its subdomains, collectively, “Site”) and related communications (e.g., emails, phone calls, and texts) (collectively, “Service”). “we”, “us”, “our” and “G2” refer to G2.com, Inc., a Delaware corporation based in  Chicago, Illinois.

When you use Monty, G2’s AI-powered software buying assistant, G2 may store your chat logs to gather feedback and improve our products and services.

2. SOURCES OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION 

We collect your personal data from these sources:

  1. Directly from You. When you visit the Site, log-in as a registered user on the Site, or fill out a form on the Site.
  2. Indirectly from You. As you navigate and interact with the Site, we automatically collect some information through cookies and similar technologies. The personal data collected may include information about your computer and internet connection, like IP address, operating system, and browser type.  Not all data collected may be personal data, and some cookies are necessary to operationalize or maintain the Site or use different functionalities of the Site.   3. From Social Media.  If you use a social network to log in, we receive certain personal data from your account, such as your profile information and connections.
  4. From Other Sources. We may also obtain personal and non-personal data about you from affiliated entities, business partners, and third parties. For example, if you come to the Site via a partner's link, we may receive data you shared with that partner.

  2. Fulfillment of Contact Requests. We use the information you provide to respond to your contact requests on the Site. When you request information about a third-party service or product, we will connect you with the relevant provider. The information used may include identifiers, professional or employment information.
  3. Research and Analysis. We use collected information to conduct research and analysis related to the Site, such as to identify and resolve errors, testing features, understanding visitor behavior and pathways.   4. Personalization of your Experience.   9. Offsite and Target Advertisements. We may deliver advertisements for G2 products and services through our partners, based on information you provide during your Site visit. 4. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION WITH THIRD PARTIES

G2 may share your information with products and services providers listed on the Site, business partners, service providers, social media networks, affiliates, and any other third parties you authorize.

  1. Sharing With Product and Service Providers. When you request to be contacted, we will share your personal data with the relevant provider to fulfill your request. The personal data shared may include (to the extent you provide it): first and last name, email, phone number, employer, and location information.
  2. Sharing Your Content. When you leave a review on the Site, it may be shared publicly along with any associated personal data. This information may be displayed on social media, third-party software marketplaces, and other authorized platforms or marketing materials. This personal data shared may include (to the extent you provide it, your first name, last initial, email, profile picture associated with your G2 account, job title and employer.
  3. Sharing with Service Providers. G2 engages third-party service providers to assist with various Site-related functions, including hosting, security, support, tracking, and marketing. We share your personal data with these providers as needed to perform their tasks. The personal data shared may include any categories of information outlined in Section 1, above.  
  4. Sharing with Social Networks. If you log into your G2 account using a social network like LinkedIn or Facebook, we may share information about your activity or content posted on the Site with that network. For instance, if you choose to post a review on social media, we will share the personal data associated with that review.
  5. Sharing with Affiliates. We share your personal data with our affiliates, who must adhere to this Privacy Policy. If G2 is acquired by another company, that entity will inherit your personal data and will handle it according to this Privacy Policy. The personal data shared may include any categories outlined in Section 1, above.  
  6. Sharing with our Clients. G2 may receive valuable consideration for sharing your personal data when you request contact from a provider or leave a review that we share with clients. We share your personal data to promote our products and services, allow clients to display your reviews, and provide insights into their competitive landscape. This includes your first and last name and email, along with any additional information you provide. In some cases, we also share data with advertising partners.
5. COOKIES, ANALYTICS & TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

We use the following tracking technologies: 

  1. Cookies and Tracking Technology. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on the Site.. These tools help us recognize you and collect information about your interactions, including navigation patterns and preferences. When you visit the Site, we (including companies we work with) may store small data files on your device, which can include web beacons, cookies, clear gifs, pixel tags, e-tags, flash cookies, log files, or other local storage.   2. Do Not Track Signals. G2 does not currently respond to Do-Not-Track signals from persons in the United States, although we do respond to the Global Privacy Control (GPC). 6. USER-GENERATED CONTENT 

Reviews and comments you submit on the Site will be publicly accessible both on and off the Site. If you include personal data in your review or posts, other users may be able to identify you or link you to your account. To minimize this risk, consider using the Service anonymously. 

Submitting reviews and comments is voluntary. By doing so, , you authorize G2 to publicly share your content and sub-license it as outlined in our Terms of Use. This allows us to authorize third parties, including software providers and marketing platforms, to use your content in various formats.

If you wish to anonymize or delete a review previously attributed to your name, you can request this change be made. However, we cannot guarantee that others have not saved your personal data before the change.

7. YOUR DATA PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on where you are located and/or live, you may exercise certain data privacy rights, and G2 will facilitate the exercise of those rights. 8. PROCESSING IN THE UNITED STATES  

If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your personal data will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S., where our servers and central database are located. U.S. data protection laws may not be as comprehensive as those in your country. 

Your personal data may be processed outside your jurisdiction, including in countries and jurisdictions that are not subject to an adequacy decision by the European Commission or your local legislature or regulator, and that may not provide for the same level of data protection as your jurisdiction. We ensure that recipients provide sufficient security by using appropriate agreements, including standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission (Art. 46 GDPR) or other relevant authorities.

9. SECURITY

We have implemented administrative, technical, and physical security procedures to protect your personal data. Only authorized employees can access non-public data for specific business purposes. We use encryption for data transmission and employ firewalls and intrusion detection systems to prevent unauthorized access. Please note that while we strive to protect your information, submitting data over the Internet is never completely secure, and any submission is at your own risk.

10. DURATION OF PERSONAL DATA RETENTION

G2 retains your personal data for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain legitimate business interests, prevent or investigate wrongdoing, or to comply with legal obligations. For data collected through cookies, see our Cookie Policy for retention periods and options to adjust tracking. Information submitted through your user profile is kept for the life of your account. Please note that service providers listed on the Site cannot remove their profile page, ratings, or reviews by closing their accounts.

11. SITE IS NOT INTENDED FOR CHILDREN

The Site is a general audience site and does not offer services directed to individuals under 18 years of age.

No one under the age of 18 may provide any information to or on the Site. We do not knowingly collect or share personal information from individuals under 18.

If you are under 18, do not use or provide any information on the Site or on or through any of its features, do not register on the Site, use any of the interactive or comment features of the Site, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or user name you may use. Should an individual whom we know to be under the age of 18 send personal information to us, we will delete or destroy such information as soon as reasonably possible. 12. PRIVACY POLICY UPDATES

This Privacy Policy is current as of the last updated date set forth above. G2 may, in its sole and absolute discretion, update this Privacy Policy from time to time. G2 will post its updated Privacy Policy to the Site. You acknowledge that your continued use of the Site and/or continued provision of personal information to G2 after we publish an updated Privacy Policy will be considered acceptance of any changes to this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to periodically review this Privacy Policy for any changes.
