How You Can Use It
A G2 Profile may represent a current business-to-business software, service, or open-sourced project that is generally available in the market. The G2 Profile may be available for a Software Product, a Service Offering, a Product Suite, or a Company Profile.1 The most current inclusion methodology (located at https://research.g2.com/methodology/categorization2).
G2 Profiles are categorized into at least one category based on the functionality of the software or service, i.e., the product’s features, and not based on what it is used for or who uses it. G2 will update categorization based on our methodology (located at https://research.g2.com/methodology/categorization).
If Client has earned a G2 Badge, Client may republish the badge on Client’s website, provided that such republication contains a backlink to the G2 page for Client’s applicable product or service. Client may not alter, abridge, or otherwise modify the badge in any manner. For example, Client may not alter the colors of the badge to match its brand guidelines. Client may also republish and share the aggregated Star Rating of the applicable product(s) and/or service(s) on the G2 Site, provided Client provides a backlink to the applicable profile page on G2.com and attributes the Star Rating to G2 as follows: “Source: G2.com, Inc.”
Except as expressly permitted herein, G2 grants no license or right to Client to republish, share, duplicate, abridge or otherwise modify any G2 Content. “G2 Content” means the website(s) owned and operated by G2, reviews, reports, derivative works, and anything provided by G2 in connection with the Services:
Except as expressly permitted herein, G2 grants no license or right to Client to republish, share, duplicate, abridge or otherwise modify any G2 Content. For clarity, Client may not republish, share, duplicate, abridge or otherwise modify any G2 reports, including Grid® Reports, Compare Reports, and Index Reports. Further, Client may not republish or share, in full or any excerpt thereof, any reviews of any products or services on G2.com, even if such review was solicited by Client.
Client agrees that it will not, and will not authorize or induce any third party to: (i) generate automated, fraudulent, or otherwise invalid reviews, questions, comments, lead conversions, clicks, or other actions; (ii) use any automated means or form of scraping or extracting G2 Content or data to access, query, collect, syndicate G2 Content or other data, content, or reviews; or (iii) use any G2 trade or service marks in any manner without G2’s prior written consent.
Client acknowledges and agrees that it is solely responsible for ensuring that its review generation efforts, including its use of its own independent incentivization campaigns, and its use of G2 Content are compliant with all applicable, then-current Federal Trade Commission regulations and guidelines and Client agrees that G2 will not be responsible for Client’s or its users’ violation thereof. Client agrees that it will not (i) segment its outreach to gather reviews via NPS score, or other similar metric, regardless of whether the outreach is incentivized; (ii) only solicit reviews from reviewers who are expected to leave a positive review; (iii) discourage negative reviews; (iv) condition incentives upon the positivity, negativity, or substance of the review; (v) fail to disclose to G2 any incentive offered to a reviewer, regardless of whether that offer was made independent of G2; (vi) republish G2 reviews in a deceptive manner; or (viii) take any other action or inaction that would violate then-current Federal Trade Commission regulations or guidelines, or that could reasonably influence the authenticity or credibility of Client’s reviews or aggregate star rating.
Client is not required to provide to G2 suggestions, questions, requests or corrections (“Feedback”) related to G2’s Services; however, if Client provides any Feedback to G2, Client grants G2 a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and irrevocable license to use and incorporate such Feedback into G2’s Services. G2 or third parties may make available third-party products or services for use, combination, or integration with the Services. G2 makes no representations or warranties relating to third-party products or services, whether or not they are designated by G2 as “certified” or otherwise. G2 is not responsible for any disclosure, modification or deletion of Client Content resulting from access by such third-party products or services. G2 cannot guarantee the continued availability of such third-party products or services and may cease providing them without notice. G2 is not responsible for any disclosure, modification or deletion of Client’s data resulting from access by such third-party application. Client grants G2 and its applicable contractors a worldwide, limited-term license to host, copy, use, transmit, and display any third-party applications and program code created by or for Client using a Service or for use by Client with the Services as necessary to provide the Services. Client grants G2 permission to allow the third-party application and its provider to access Client’s Content and information about Client’s usage of a third-party application as appropriate for the interoperation of third-party applications with the Services. Client grants G2 and its applicable contractors a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, distribute, display, and otherwise make use of Client Content to provide the Services. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Client agrees that G2 will have the right to: (a) access and use Client’s Content, including (i) to provide, maintain, and update the Services; and (ii) for the purpose of providing statistical insights and analysis to Client and Client’s users use of the Services; and (b) anonymize and aggregate Client’s Content (such anonymized and aggregated data, “Aggregate Data”) to prepare reports, studies, analyses, and other work product resulting from such Aggregate Data. G2 may syndicate matched Reviews, Discussions, and Client Content including screenshots to select third-party marketplaces at its sole discretion. G2 may periodically update the names and deliverables for each Service provided that such updates will not have a materially adverse impact on Client’s use of or access to the Services.
G2 trademarks and copyrighted works include G2’s names, logos, G2 Content, and other matter protected under trademark or copyright law. Client may refer to G2’s trademarks in word form only. Client may only use G2’s logo under license or other express written permission.
